We have high expertise in colorectal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, ENT, urologic, and thoracic surgery. The Staff Hematologist/Oncologist is responsible for providing comprehensive care. Duties of this position include but are not limited to: Ability to perform initial histories and physical examinations on outpatients; make assessments and use appropriate diagnostic evaluations; implement timely and appropriate treatment. Rounding with residents and fellows on the inpatient ward. Covers weekend call rotation with other physicians. Participates in tele-medicine services between the main medical center and the various Community Based Outpatient Clinics. Assist with the diagnosis and interpretation of pulmonary nodules. Counsel and advise patients diagnosed with malignancy. Orders diagnostic studies and interprets laboratory tests, EKGs, and radiologic tests. Provides ongoing outpatient care for assigned case load. Prescribes and refills medications within the defined scope of practice. Provides education and counseling of patients and families. Overseeing Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: Annual leave at the rate of eight (8) hours per biweekly pay period; Sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per biweekly pay period; 10 paid Federal holidays per year.
