The role you’ll contribute:
EKG Technician performs inpatient and outpatient 12 Lead electrocardiograph recordings, holter/event monitor placement/scanning as needed, and treadmill stress testing along with related documentation.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Confirms that appropriate patient information is present and complete prior to starting a procedure.
- Confirms patient identification and understanding of procedure.
- Performs thorough and accurate routine and emergency EKGs as ordered by physician.
- Presents all STAT EKGs to RN immediately after completion.
- Responds immediately to ‘Code Blue’ as required.
- Provides patient with emotional support.
- Performs specialized testing using computer assisted devices including holter/event monitor application, signal-averaged EKG and treadmill stress tests.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of established EKG exam during orientation or within 6 months, and annually thereafter.
- Previous patient care experience; on the job training.
- Current BLS certification required from American Heart Association
- Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) OR Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 18 months of starting this role with any AdventHealth facility.
